Hope Continues . . .
Two years—it's been two years this month since I first met with the villagers in Mbayi. And two years also that I'd been away from Canada. Recently back in Zambia, out of jet lag and somewhat caught up with things here, it's time to pause and remember . . . I had six (which became seven) wonderful weeks in Canada with my incredible mother who will turn 85 this September, my son Malo—the great blessing in my life, my two sisters who are so “there” for me (thanks Sheri for gathering support in London, ON!) and so many warm reunions with the most amazing friends one could imagine. From your homes and gardens, lakefront, the coffeeshops, restaurants and even offices I enjoyed the marvelous gifts of friend and fellowship. How I wish I could have spent more time with each and every one of you!
My neighbourhood and church families—you really came together for the (im)possible and I am deeply grateful for the funds raised to share with those so much less fortunate. Vera and family, Chris and Pamela, and all your helpers—what lovely events you created to keep this mission going. Thank you, you are awesome!!!!
What a joy it was to meet the members of the Streetsville Rotary Club who truly put service above self. Thanks for inviting me to speak at your luncheon meeting. I'm very grateful for your contributions to my work here in Zambia.
At long last I came face to face with the moms at Caledonia Presbyterian Church. We spent a delightful evening together chatting about the Mbayi mamies, their dedication to these Zambian sisters heartwarming evidence of compassion in action.
Because of your generosity many beneficial changes have come to the impoverished community of Mbayi. I invite you to view a video (see above—just click on the arrow) chronicling the last two years. Much has been accomplished and thanks to your donations hope continues as I move ahead extending your helping hands to those in dire need.
Thanks for caring and sharing!!!!! God bless you.
